Apostle of the Rosary

The 15 Promises of Mary to Those Who Faithfully Pray the Rosary

A tradition held by the Order of Preachers (also known as Dominicans) holds that through Saint Dominic and Alan de Rupe, the Blessed Virgin Mary made fifteen specific promises to Christians who faithfully pray the rosary. Alanus de Rupe (Alain de la Roche) was a 15th-century Dominican preacher, best known for his efforts to promote the Rosary.

The fifteen promises fall under the category of "private revelation", and as such are a pious tradition, which a person is free, but not obligated, to practice. They range from protection from misfortune to meriting a high degree of glory in heaven.

Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces.
I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
The Rosary will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire for eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. Our Lady of the Rosary

The thread of the rosary is present in all of Mary's apparitions.

In Lourdes, in 1858, Mary and Bernadette Soubirous are praying together. The first two meetings between Bernadette and Our Lady ended solely in praying the rosary together.

In Gietrzwałd, from June 27th to September 16th, 1877, she repeated many times throughout all the days of the apparitions:

"I wish you to pray the rosary every day."

In Fatima, during the first apparition, Our Lady asked:

"Pray the rosary daily for peace for the world and the end of the war!"

During the second apparition on June 13th, 1917, when the children asked what she expected of them, she replied, "I want you to pray the rosary every day."

During the fourth apparition, she asked to pray a lot for poor sinners, because many souls go to hell because no one sacrifices or prays for them.

For the fifth time, Mary appeared on September 13th, 1917 and again asked the children:

"Continue to pray the rosary to plead for the end of the war."

On October 13th, 1917, at the last apparition, Mary announced:

"I am Our Lady of the Rosary. We still need to pray the rosary every day. The war will end and the soldiers will return home soon. "

These promises were also soon fulfilled.

In Medjugorje on March 18th, 1985, Mary said to Mirjana:

“The rosary is not a home decoration, and often people treat it only as a such. Tell everyone to pray on it. "

Mary speaks of the rosary as an effective prayer that brings peace where a person started wars and alone is unable to stop them.
